πThe Rundown
Mount Rinjani at 3,726 meters is Indonesia's second-highest volcano, with a stunning crater lake (Segara Anak) and multi-day trekking routes
The Gili Islands β Trawangan, Meno, and Air β are three car-free coral-fringed islets off Lombok's northwest coast, known for diving, sea turtles, and beach bars
Lombok is culturally distinct from neighboring Bali β the majority Sasak population is predominantly Muslim, giving the island a quieter, more traditional character
Kuta Lombok (not to be confused with Bali's Kuta) has some of Indonesia's most spectacular empty beaches with turquoise water and dramatic headlands
The island is a rising surf destination with consistent swells from May to October, particularly at Gerupuk and Desert Point (Bangko Bangko)
Lombok's traditional Sasak villages like Sade and Ende preserve thatched-roof houses, weaving traditions, and customs largely unchanged for centuries

Tanjung Aan Beach
ποΈA horseshoe-shaped bay with unique pepper-grain sand on one side and powdery white sand on the other. One of Lombok's most beautiful and photogenic beaches with calm, swimmable waters.

Sendang Gile & Tiu Kelep Waterfalls
πΏTwin waterfalls near the village of Senaru at the foot of Mount Rinjani. Sendang Gile is a short walk from the road; Tiu Kelep requires a 45-minute trek through the jungle.
